Ente Certificazione Macchine (ECM), as Notified Body (NB 1282) to the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, performs the conformity verifications required to affix the CE Mark (ATEX) to equipment. Carry out the conformity assessment procedures described in Annexes III, IV, V, VI, VII and IX of the Product Groups and Categories Directive. The services provided by ECM are as follows.

• EU Type Examination according to Annex III of the Directive;
• unit conformity assessment in accordance with Annex IX of the Directive;
• quality management system audits and product compliance audits according to Annexes IV, V, VI and VII of the Directive;
• Filing technical files;
• laboratory and on-site testing activities;

ATEX 2014/34/EU Guidelines

We accept ATEX certification applications that omit testing by attaching a test report from an accredited testing laboratory (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025 or ExTL).

Procedure about estimate and requesting application

for ATEX&IECEx and JPEx＆TIIS certification Service

Taking IECEx-TR, which conforms to the explosion-proof standards of 36 IECEx member countries,
​is a prerequisite for global products.

Please note the following points when requesting and applying for a quotation so that it is prohibited by regulation.

• If the NB/CBs have provided consultancy services, the application cannot be made at the NB/CBs that received the consultancy services.

• NB/CBs cannot provide consulting services for products that have received explosion proof certification.​

1. Preparation work​
Please check the following items in advance.
1)  Drawings and technical documents conform to IECEx OD 017.
     IECEx OD 017: Drawing and Documentation Guidance for IECEx Certification
2) Necessary books are prepared. (See Section 3 below)

2.  Language of documentation
1) The application documents must be in English. ATEX EU-Type Examination,
     IECExCoC, ExTR are issued in English.
2) For languages other than English, please attach an English translation sheets
     or add an English translation beside the original language of the drawing.

•  Application form​ (Name and address of the applicant, Name and address of manufacturer, equipment name)
• Drawings
• Instruction manual
• Other materials (when necessary)

3. Documents to be submitted.
Documents to be submitted are listed below:
・Drawings
​　Detailed requirements on drawings are specified in IECEx OD017,
　which is available from IECEx website.
・Instruction manual ：
    Include the information specified in Clause 30 (Instructions)
​     of the instruction manual IEC60079-0.
　 (Instruction manual, information for installation, inspection
​      and maintenance, etc.)
・Declaration of Applicant (Form 2)
　All ExCBs must receive a “Declaration of Applicant” signed by the applicant
​　at the time of application based on IECEx regulations.

ATEX

The ATEX Directive is a part of the CE mark, which incorporates the European Explosion Proof Standard into the marking of the conventional CENELEC Explosion Proof Standard.

IECEx

IECEx is an international system for certification of equipment used in an explosive atmosphere, and its quality evaluation regulations are based on the standards created by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).

KCs 

Korean explosion-proof certification (Agency)
Based on Article 84 of the Industrial Safety and Health Law, safety certification is obligatory for explosion-proof electrical machinery and equipment, and those who manufacture and import it must receive the safety certification implemented by the Minister of Employment and Labor and display the KCs mark.

China NEPSI 

It is an affiliated organization of "Shanghai Automated Control Surveying Instrument Verification Laboratory (SITIIAS)". It is a specialized agency recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) for supervision and testing capabilities, and is explosive as well as research and development, testing, and verification of explosion-proof equipment. We carry out safety inspections and technical evaluations of explosion-proof equipment based on government guidelines for electrical equipment used in the environment.

Chana CNEX

 (Nanyang Explosion Protected Electrical Apparatus Research Institute)
CNEX is a nationally accredited organization to obtain the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) for products used in explosion-protected atmospheres / hazardous locations (Ex-products). 

CQST (China national quality supervision and test center for Explosion protected electrical products) is the Chinese national quality supervision and test center certified by the Chinese authorities, and CNEx is the specialized research and safety of explosion-proof products approved by CQST. It is an organization that performs certification.

Taiwan TS

KSC has a mutual business agreement with the certification bodies of Taiwan (ITRI) and Russia (NANIO CCVE), and will provide prompt and accurate services for various matters for obtaining certification of the relevant country.
